Legal Cannabis 2013 – Documentary

Published on 24 Aug 2013
Medical cannabis refers to the parts of the herb cannabis used as a form of medicine or herbal therapy, or to synthetic forms of specific cannabinoids such as THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) as a form of medicine. The Cannabis plant has been used as a medicine over an extensive period of time, with legendary evidence dating back to the fictional Shen Nung in 2737 BCE.[1] Cannabis is one of the 50 “fundamental” herbs of traditional Chinese medicine,[2] and is prescribed for a broad range of indications. However, organizations such as the American Society of Addiction Medicine dismiss the concept of “medical marijuana” because the plant in question fails to meet the standard requirements for approved medicines; that is, marijuana is associated with many serious, well documented, negative health effects.[3]
